Education has been a cornerstone of the Progressive National Baptist Convention (PNBC) mission and vision since our beginning. As PNBC prepares to envision our place in history, education will be the main forum and a focal point that undergirds our initiatives for pastors, laypersons, and the local church. Our goal is to provide diverse educational opportunities for exposure to the best ministry resources available.
PNBC is embarking upon new educational initiatives that provide relevant and innovative 21st century models of ministry that enlighten and inform. These initiatives support our vision of equipping pastors and churches to be effective in ministry in the 21st century.
Workshops and courses are facilitated by speakers and leaders who are prominent ‘voices’ of cutting-edge thought and implementers of social change within the black community. Providing seminary-based training for pastors and certification programs for laypersons are only two of the many new initiatives envisioned. The Pastor’s Division and Christian Education program will be shaped to ensure that laypersons and pastors are offered courses that lead to relevant and transformative ministry.
